Queerfish

Our Purpose

Life, Faith, Love, Unite

Queerfish believes that in order to change a restrictive  church culture to a more accepting, loving, and empathetic culture, one must introduce tools to assist in that change   Queerfish seeks and promotes ideas to bring about that change.

Queerfish is about bringing the Queer and Ally communities of faith together in a pursuit of teaching love for all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or religious faith.  Our goal is to free traditional mind sets to experience the divine in new ways, leading to a more loving community.

Expressions of Support

South Carolina Pride:  "Y'all means all in South Carolina! We support the work of Queerfish because they are amplifying the stories and creativity of local queer artists and honoring the longstanding existence of faith and spiritual practices that queer folx hold so dear. This project helps South Carolina become more welcoming for all."

The Agape Table: "Through personal experience and community programming, we feel the trauma queer folx endure at the hands of religious institutions and places of worship. It shouldn't be this way, and we are working to change that. Whether a queer person claims their faith or walks away from it, healing from religious trauma is critical to finding freedom in authenticity. We support the work of Queerfish because they are creating space for queer Christians (and others) to start that healing process!"

One Columbia:  "Supporting Queerfish is vital for fostering diverse perspectives and inclusive narratives in the arts. This work can inspire empathy, connect communities, and promote a world where everyone is seen and valued.  Queer artists often explore themes of identity, love, and community, offering unique insights that challenge societal norms and expand our understanding of the human experience. By supporting the work of Queerfish, One Columbia not only hopes to help validate their voice but also to encourage a broader cultural dialogue that celebrates diversity.
